Jet Environmental Win Contract with Confectionery Giants Mars and DHL

Jet Environmental are thrilled to have secured a project with DHL and Mars on the new SERGO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway, providing temperature control solutions for the enormous new warehouse.

The site will have a combined size of 1 million sq ft and will increase Mars’ warehousing capacity by more than 50 per cent. They will be used by Mars’ three biggest UK subsidiaries – Mars Wrigley, Mars Food and Mars Pet Nutrition.

The project was awarded to Jet at the end of 2020 and is due to be completed in August this year.

Jet Environmental are dedicated to finding new ways to reduce carbon emissions by providing systems with the highest energy efficiency. Their Air Induction Systems are recognised as the most energy efficient way of heating, cooling and ventilating large volume buildings whilst maintaining critical temperature requirements.

‘At JET, we are continuously looking at ways to reduce carbon emissions. By installing one of our systems you can be assured that you will have the most technically advanced solution to even and close tolerance temperature and humidity requirements. Jet prides itself on its innovative bespoke design capabilities and its alliance with blue chip customers and suppliers.

We are delighted to be installing our temperature control solutions at this new development which aims to create hundreds of jobs”– Jason Hibbs, Managing Director at Jet Environmental.

Mars UK moves more than 1.2 million pallets of products every year – stacked on top of each other that would reach to the top of Mount Everest every other day. They achieve global revenues of around £26 billion and employ 115,000 people around the world.

The large-scale logistics park will house up to 6 million square feet of warehouse premises covering around 700 acres. It will have its own rail terminal for the exclusive use of freight traffic with the aim of supporting and encouraging the increased movement of freight by rail in the East Midlands region.

A bike hire scheme has also been launched at SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG) to make it quicker and easier for employees of all the companies based on the 700-acre site to get around.
