Wozair Awarded Contract for Phase-1 of the North Field Sustainability Project
Wozair UAE has been awarded the North Field Production Sustainability Phase-1 project by Rapid Offshore Marine, Singapore.
The scope includes a range of motorized Fire and Gas Dampers, Blast Dampers, Shut-off Dampers and Gas Tight Dampers designed to ensure the safety of occupants and the integrity of the platform.
Wozair Dampers are designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke between ‘A’ & ‘H’ Class divisions in the event of cellulosic or hydrocarbon fires. Each individual damper is fully inspected and tested prior to release to ensure it meets the highest safety requirements and industry standards.
The North Field Sustainability Project operated by Qatar Gas aims to increase current production from the North Field by 30% or 4.6 bcf/d, thereby increasing LNG production capacity from 77 of 100 mtpa. The sustainability project will take place in the southern sector of the North Field and is expected to take 5 to 7 years to complete.
First gas from the expansion project is expected to be produced by the end of 2023. The project is in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which aims for more sustainable development by 2030.
