Wozair Achieves Outstanding Performance Classifications in Model Box AHU Testing

Wozair, leading engineering company specializing in air management solutions, has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by successfully conducting tests on a Model Box Air Handling Unit (AHU) in accordance with BS EN 1886: 2007. These tests, witnessed by the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA), have yielded outstanding results, solidifying Wozair’s position as an industry leader.

The comprehensive testing covered a range of performance classifications, demonstrating exceptional capabilities for the AHU construction:

  1. Mechanical Strength – D1

The Model Box AHU demonstrated exceptional mechanical strength with a maximum relative deflection less than or equal to 4 mm x m-1, earning it the top classification of D1.

  1. Air Leakage – L1

In terms of air leakage, the casing exhibited impressive performance, achieving a maximum leakage rate less than or equal to 0.15 l x s-1 x m-2 under a negative 400 Pa pressure test and 0.22 l x s-1 x m-2 under a positive 700 Pa pressure test, securing L1 classification.

  1. Filter Bypass Leakage – F7

The filter sealing arrangement delivered exceptional results, with the maximum filter bypass leakage rate expressed as a percentage of volume flow rate being less than or equal to 2%, meeting an F7 classification.

These performance ratings complement previously achieved thermal classifications:

  1. Thermal Transmittance – T2

The thermal transmittance of the casing was demonstrated to be between 0.5 and 1.0 W x m-2 x K-1, achieving the T2 classification.

  1. Thermal Bridging – TB1

The thermal bridging factor of the casing was measured between 0.75 and 1.0, securing TB1 classification.

At the same time, BSRIA conducted acoustic testing on the Model Box AHU following the methodology described in section 9 of BS EN 1886: 2007. This methodology makes reference to BS EN ISO 11546-2: 2009 and in turn BS EN ISO 3743-1: 2010. The sound insertion loss for octave band centre frequencies were recorded over the range 125 Hz to 8k Hz giving Wozair the ability to present verified performance data.

By successfully completing the entire suite of tests defined in BS EN 1886: 2007 for AHUs, Wozair has demonstrated its commitment to meeting and exceeding the highest industry standards, providing customers with reliable, high-quality air handling solutions.

These exceptional results reflect Wozair’s unwavering focus on innovation, advanced technology, and environmental sustainability. As the company continues to push the boundaries of air management, clients can rest assured that Wozair’s products remain at the forefront of the industry.
